I went with a foreign character, my first one Illidan Icerage.
I wasn't the first one. Someone in my guild beat the game at least 12 hours before I did, a few others in my alliance too.
I heard from a member of XoO that someone beat the game in the first 24 hours (Euro servers never had the bugs that stopped me
