After the tremendous success of Guild Wars: rogueBATTLE, there is a huge demand for more games at this website. There also seems to be a lot of programmers who frequent these forums. SOOOOO... let's make some games. Now, this is all volunentary stuff. You won't get paid for creating or contributing to a web game. However, you might be able to do the following...
Make a name for yourself - Photics.com has thousands of visitors every day. If you're a new coder, who wants to make a name for yourself, this could be a great way to start. You can see where I've implemented open source technology into this website. Just look at the bottom of this forum. Create a great web game for Photics.com and your name can appear at the bottom of that game page! :)
Learn something - Coding is hard! Yet, by creating a community of friendly coders, we all might learn something. I know my skills at PHP are improving.
PLAY NEW GAMES! - The goal here is simple - to play some new games. Sure, they'll have a Guild Wars theme, but you'll be surprised what a vast array of genres that can cover. I don't want to give away any secrets... but there are at least three games currently in development... all with unique themes.

Here are rules...
1 - Be friendly. No one here is better than anyone else. We're working towards a common goal... to improve our skills and to create some fun games.
2 - Games must be original. That means no ripping off code, content or idea. One of the primary objectives is to be as professional as possible. I think such an attitude will be reflected in the games.
3 - No Huge Games. Keep in mind, that bandwidth can get expensive... and games tend to be popular. So 10+ Meg Flash Files are just not going to fly.
4 - No meta refresh tag. Games posted on this site will have ads appearing on the page (like rogueBATTLE). Because of that, the games cannot use a meta refresh tag.

Keep in mind, Photics.com does not ask for exclusivity. Say you create a Guild Wars Flash Pinball game. (HEH... that would be awesome.) If you remove the Guild Wars content... give your pinball game a different theme... then go ahead and do what you want with it. If you want to sell the engine, why not if you're able? If you want to put the game on your own website... go right ahead. The point is that you're not locked in. Now you cannot resell Guild Wars content... duh... but what you do with your own game engine is your own thing. As long as Photics.com has more games for the Guild Wars Arcade, I won't stand in the way of your project going commercial.
Also keep in mind who visits this website - GAME DEVELOPERS! If any of you have dreams of working for ArenaNet, I think something like this would look good on the resume. Those who do tremendous work on fansites often get gobbled up by game companies.

Why a forum? Ever try to send code via Instant Messanger?
Code:
The BBCode commands makes it a lot easier to show problems with code.
Plus, it is hoped that this will encourage others to participate. This stuff is fun! It really gives you insight to game creation. I think after you've tried creating your own game, you won't yell so loud when something gets nerfed. Also, here is where Photics.com Volunteer Game Developers can announce their projects and coordinate with other members of the community.
I'm also working on some secret stuff, to make this even more interesting. This forum is where I can make such announcements! :)
I'll also be there with you. Even though my PHP coding abilities are weak, I'm working on my own game for this site.

Sound good? If so... why not post up?! :D
