I got to say these class I think is a great new class for Guild Wars. With the moves the Assassin has it can bring whole new tactis into Guild War, but like ever other class, you can't just pick it up and expect to be good.

You do need to learn how to use it. I like to think of the Assassin as the new Ranger. Rangers weren't very good at first because no one knew how to bing out there full power, butn ow look at them. There is at lest one ranger in ever HoH and GvG group.

So your roll as a Assassin.
As you know assassin attack in combs for the most part. You will pretty much need at lest one lead attack anyway. The begining Build, as most of you saw, does not bring out the full power of the Assassin. So I am going to do a rare thing and tell you my build that came up with.

Mantis attack.
This will be your lead. Its a great move as it cripples people who are running away which is much more effective then Dark Mantis attack who needs people to be hexed.

Jagged Strick.
I havn't really seen all the off-hand attacks, but this one does some ok dmg so I kept it.

(forget the name >_>)I think its like Viper Strike or something
It knocks the oppent down and poisones them. This goes good in our combo I will tell you.

Bull Ox slash(Forgot name again)
This is our Duel attack and boy is it a good one. You knock your enemy down and hit them two times(kind of like 100 swords)

So this is our comb. So how do we use it? Well in you opening attack you should start off with your lead and why not since you would not be able to use the others if you didn't >_>
Then you go with Viper Strike thingy(this is also good for interuption). Then with your off-hand and then with your Duel. It does not always kill them in one hit, but it leaves them with about 50 hp left and they are poisoned so only time will tell.

Other moves
A assassin is not just about his combo. He has other nice moves as well. One of the first things you learn about in PvP beta is the Rts have some moves that block your attacks alot. So how do you beat that? A little move called Expose Defence. You have to use this before you use your combo and do your combo fast to get every hit int.

Shadow Step.
This is just a nice tricky move. You can run in to your enemy then puff your not there. Now remember this move is a stance and will end if you put on another stance(hint hint).

Vinper Defence
This is one of my most favorite Assassin moves. It is a stance and if someone hits you you teleport to a random area(which seems to be about 7 step in and direction from where you were) and the attacker becomes poisoned.
Great for if yoyu need to run or just want to piss someone off.

Now if you want to, you can replace Shadow Step or Expose defences with the Assassin heal move(Name >_<), but I found that I don't like that move.

Who to attack?
Now this is a big thing I found out. You see in Guild Wars there is what seems to be a balance, but really for each class there is a class they are good against and week against. Like A ranger is bad against a warrior. I guess they were thinking of put in ranger everything for the assassin since its is weak against Warrior(100%) and Rangers(50%), but VERY good against casters.(and this build owns other Assassins as well)

I have found this skill is less useful when you want to attack a character and more useful when you want to run away. If you think of someone chasing you. Your opponent is right on your heels and then poof your back where you originally were.

If your looking for a shadow step type skill for attacking there is a great one (I'm terrible with names too ) that states something like "If target foe is 100' away from you, you shadow step (teleport) to foes location and opponent is knocked down for x seconds".

My other favorite is an elite skill (darn me for forgetting names and being at work where I can't get into game):

"All your skills are disabled for 15 seconds. Target foe cannot cast spells for 3-9 seconds. "

Talk about an anti-caster. Along with this I would probably also bring in one of the interrupt skills (there are several)

Assasins will make great anti-casters and monk harrasment.

Yeah i agree for monk harrassment, i remember once when i was in random arena all i did was run around the area after the monk took a while to kill but the monk couldn't cast anything because when he stopped running I'd be all over him.

Ya I think they were made to take out caster and I think Rt was made to help fight off Warriors.its hard as hell to kill them when they know what they are doing.
