For PVP i find that assassins are way too easily countered. Skills mostly need to chain which means that if any gets blocked or evaded, the whole thing fails...and seeing how many whirling defence/escape rangers, stance warriors (auspicious parry is a nightmare), guardian monks, distortion mesmers are out there, becoming obsolete is pretty easy...not to forget good ol' blind.
For a A/N, Rigor mortis might help, but it's slow casting and recharge is too long (from a melee point of view)...Unseen Fury is conditional, Expose Defences will require Deadly Arts, which means less points in other attribs.
In the end, for PVP, my assassin build was this:
Dancing Daggers, Entangling Asp, Seeping Wound, Shadow Refuge, Crippling Dagger, Shameful Fear, Dark Escape, ??? (usually Plague Touch cos i use A/N mostly)
Deadly Arts 11+1+3, Critical Strikes 11+2, Shadow Arts 10+1
With an Insightful Staff of Fortitude
In AB it's more useful than the traditional dagger-wielding assassin IMO
