Talking New TeamSpeak Server

I have purchased 1 year of hosted TeamSpeak at ServerRoom.us. For now I will give the basic connect info. When I get a little time I will write up a nice guide for setting up TS for use with The Crusaders:

You can download TS at: http://www.goteamspeak.com/
Once you download and install the client you can setup as follows:
  • On Connection Menu select Connect
  • Right mouse click on Servers and select Add Server
  • Name the server The Crusaders, or whatever cool name you want to use.
  • Click on the newly created server The Crusaders.
  • Under Label, put your TC name, or whatever name folks know you as.
  • Under Server Address put: baggy.serverroom.us:8337
  • Make sure Anonymous is selected
  • Under Server Password put: pants

Let me know if you have any problems with the new server and enjoy!

EDIT: Updated Password

Question: Why do you pay for TS Server?
I have hosted one free for our guild for almost a year and never have paid. I got the free d/l from TeamSpeak site.

You pay for the dedicated hosting.

These dedicated servers have a much higher bandwidth than regular broadband users get, and dedicated servers aren't turned off as often as home PCs. Also, since only Team Speak will be running (unlike a home PC where you will probably be using it to play Guild Wars at the same time) the sound quality will be much better and you will recieve messages faster.

Hosting a server from home may be free, but you pay for it in quality.

Its been REALLY nice of Nemi to host our TS server. Many have used it with little problems. The main reason I went decided to go with a paid server is due to bandwidth as Nemi mentioned. If you had two or three or so users it's fine. You add 8+ and you can forget it. I went with a 15 user server . . . and up to today, I had no password on it. But low and behold someone had already found it and went nutz. I'll update the original post with the new password, its SO original, LOL...

Anyhoo, I hope we all enjoy the service. Several have already been taking advantage of it in PvE missions...
Have Fun!

Hmmm, I understand the bandwidth issue totally.

I have a network at home and have an old 500mhz Gateway setup as my TS server. Thats' all I have on it and it seems to work good so far. No problems yet.
