Default Cavalon switched its owner

That's what I call bad timing: our guild did meet up for a run into The Deep right when a rumor came up that the TC alliance stopped its ferry services. Everybody except one member was in the outpost already and luckily after 30 minutes waiting and a one-person-ferry by a TC member for our last guild member (praise him!) we actually were able to do our trip (up to the boss... but couldn't kill him... grrr...). After being in The Deep mission for two hours the control of Cavalon got switched to another alliance.

What happened? (if an outsider might dare to ask that) You don't loose 5.3 million Faction that fast.

You can when a few alliances get kicked out in one night for no real reason.

It was more like 2.5 million.

I am sure he had a good reason - faction at all costs is not what we are about.

There was no reason that I could see. One guild member made a couple of jokes containing the phrase "your mom" over the alliance chat. No cursing or offensive content was included. That entire guild was then booted, to the tune of around 800K faction for the alliance. Then, other people pointed out that this was ridiculous, and then they too were booted from the alliance. Other guilds in the alliance, upon hearing what happened, left on their own. That is what happened. It should be pointed out that the reason the alliance does not hold Cavalon is the direct result of the removal of these guilds and their faction.

Well sounds like a good reason to me.

As I said before we are not about faction at all costs. We don't make comments like that and the actions of each individual reflect on both the guild and the entire alliance.

I would rather lose Cavalon temporarily than lower our standards of courtesy to each other.

Hopefully, some discussion and/or action as needed will occur and we will get back on track.

It seems a bit silly to have no warning. If someone had said stop making Your mum jokes in alliance chat then it could have been stopped. It is completely pointless to kick guilds with no warning just because of one person. Seems a bit power hungry IMHO

I think people forget that they're invited into the alliance... essencially as guests. Just as one shouldn't be rude at a party, you shouldn't be rude to your alliance members.

Quite frankly, I was terribly disappointed at what happened on Gaile Gray Day. I couldn't understand how people in our alliance would make racist remarks. Making jokes about people's mothers, that's not acceptable either. The maturity level of the alliance was just too low for me. Players would grumble when I would say, "No trading on alliance chat." With Alliance chat now open to everyone, I don't want to log into a constant Lion's Arch, complete with vulgar comments and trade spam.

The Crusaders alliance more than proved it's point. We held Cavalon for a long time. Now, it's time to get back to the way things used to be - friendly, respectful and social. The only purpose of the Alliance was to gain faction. That was becoming very much like a chore. It's time to let other alliances fight over Cavalon.
