I'll second the vote for Fist of Photics [FoP].

Yeah i'm liking the Fist of Photics [FoP]
Go with the 13+ age limit. I know of 14 year olds that are more mature than 24 year olds. It's something we will be able to judge though as how mature they are whilst playing with them.
I agree that the majority of people do want to join a powerful guild. Though the guild should be built up around the members and a friendly community. That's where our true power lies
I like Nemi's idea because it can provide a play style for most people. If done right could really make a big difference to the guild.
As for when to start the guild, maybe a little bit before groundhog day if not then groundhog day. Hopefully we can get a good community up and running by then with a decent amount of members (how many is decent amount?)
I like the black fist on black idea but would also depend on what the fist would look like too. Don't want it to make the cape look worse
I can feel myself getting excited

I've been kicking an idea around in my head. I've been wondering if I should be the Guild Leader of this new guild. The role of the leader is simple, one of unwavering determination. I don't know if I could maintain that level of energy. I really should be focusing on making this website better.
It seems that "Fist of Photics" is the popular choice, but should I run it? I've been thinking that maybe I shouldn't. I think now's a good time for new leadership in the guild.
What do you think? Is my leadership important or does someone else want to take command of the guild? Leadership of the guild would be voluntary, so don't expect compensation from me or photics.com. Although, being a guild leader can be a lot of fun. I found it to be quite the ego booster.

Guild Leader is more of a status marker, any officer that would be a good leader, would still be a good leader without the title. I think having "Photics" as the leader of "The Fist of Photics" is something that people would expect as well as a perk for joining the guild. since they associate you with Photics.com, they would want to join the guild lead by the webmaster.
I understand how you could see being guild leader as a big responsibility, but you could delegate those responsibilities among the officers. I think you should be the guild leader, but I don't think you should take on all the work associated with leading the guild.

I like the FoP as well. But if your not the GM then what's the point of having FoP. Maybe you can be the GM but someone else your close to and trusts runs the administration side of the guild.

+1
Exactly what i was thinking when i read your post Photics. A few good officers will easily take on most of the responsibilities and ensure that the guild runs smoothly when you are not around.

It seems like everyone agrees. - The new guild should be called "Fist of Photics"
- I should be the guild leader.
Jizato, Nemisari and Lee Von, you can be officers. Do you want official titles? Are there rolls you want to do as officers? For example, if you play at hours different than North America, you can be the "Nightshift Manager". Of course the title could be renamed to something cooler than that.
Also, if you want to set up a TeamSpeak server, you could be the "Communications Officer". Although, we probably want to be forward thinking. I highly suspect that Guild Wars 2 will have integrated voice chat.

There's a job posting for a Text/Voice/Video Chat Engineer.
So, OK... the new guild launch is set for Groundhog's day. I'm going to replace the "Gaming News" forum with "Fist of Photics".
Here's a new question...
How important is the original Guild Wars? We all seem to be burned out on the game. Although, the sequel is probably a year away. There's the public (and possibly private) beta. A strong guild in the original game could help our chances of success in the future, or it just might burn us out further.

Ok, here are my thoughts on the matter. Thank you for repealing the 18+ aspect. Very kind of you. Secondly, as to burned out on the game, I am. I only play guild wars, to get titles for guild wars 2. The one thing I am looking forward to is mass pvp. Thats why I play online games, is the pvp, and the more the merrier. I think I agree with Nemisari, there should be different positions with an officer in charge of those areas. Granted, I wasn't in the guild before, but I was in the alliance. In fact, I'm thinking of leaving my dads guild for yours, depending on the situation.
Heres a bit added to Nemisari's idea. What about the pvp officers, shouldn't you guys create something so that there are officers in charge of running the pvp expeditions smoothly? Some officers should be in charge of the pve and such, helping members, while others make sure that the pvp matches are done right. I mean, with the large scale pvp their talking about, we kind of need people on the battlefield coordinating everything. I would volunteer myself, but I'm not sure I want to be more than a member, my life's starting to pick up speed, and I don't play much anymore. Maybe when guild wars 2 comes out, depending. If I can get my girlfriend to start playing then I might start playing more. But anyway, don't forget about pvp and the pvp specific officers.

I enjoy the PvE aspect more than PvP. I wouldn't mind helping members with missions, quests or, or other exploratory things.

I love both PvE and PvP aspects of the game so i don't really mind what i do.
I live in Australia so my time zone is probably different than most people, but as i'm sure you saw previously i was on when most others were online anyway. Especially if we have something planned and i don't have work the next day (or depending on what i have to do at work) i'll stay up late to join in on guild activities
