So, I am at Thunderhead Keep and after I finish that I take it I will bump out near the Fissure. My question is am I better off going along the quest path or should I stop and go into Sorrow's Furnace first?

It depends on your class.
You can buy all non elite skills from ember light camp (after Thunderhead) and you can cap lots of useful elites (Healing Hands, Echo, Charge etc), some of which are useful for Sorrow's Furnace.
I would suggest you at least cap some elites at Perdition rock first. However, if you are keen to go for green first, or you already have the best Green farming elites for your class (i.e. Gladiator's Defence for a tank is only found in Glint's home) then go straight there.
There is no set path, especially once you have the skills to fill out your preferred build.

Glad's is a skill, elite to be precise. Something along the lines of Bonneti's (sp), except that instead of gaining energy when you evad, you deal damage. It also does not end when you use a skill (except for, of course, another stance).

Yes, it is right after ascension.
Gladiator's Defence is the elite that is cappable off the last facet of Glint (the Warrior facet).
It is the best elite for the tank warrior. And in SF, if you are a warrior and you want to join a farming team, it is easiest to be a tank.
And as for getting thumped by Glint... she keeps getting harder and harder. Every time I go back to beat her, I am defeated by another skill they have added to her.
My first time, all she cast was Crystal Hibernation (or something like that), which was easy to interrupt.
Now she has all these stances or enchantments (like Jagged Crystal Skin) with 1/4 second cast times that cause 100 damage to attacking parties, etc.
Still, she is on our side, so I don't feel so bad that she keeps kicking my ass.

And if you didn't cap anything the first time, take TWO signets of capture.
And make sure to cap as soon as the boss is dead. A lot of people run too quickly through the portal.

Yeah I've had that problem alot of times, some people are just plain dumb because I told them in advance not to run through portal, and what do they do ? they run through and then its "oops".

you don't have to beat Glint to get the skill. Just the last dragon before you fight Glint/get the chose to fight.
I have beaten Glint. When I fought her we were able to do the old send in the tanks and nuke em.

I want to try to fight Glint with my mesmer again... I didn't take inspired hex the first time. I really want to see if it's possible to use her hexes.
