Photics.com Guild Wars Art Contest - TRY TO WIN A ZBoard!

Thanks to Ideazon, makers of Zboard, there’s an easier Photics.com contest for you to enter in. It’s the Photics.com Guild Wars Art Contest. The rules are simple, create a visually impressive image that is based on Guild Wars lore. Your goal is to create emotion. Maybe it’s a funny screenshot or maybe it’s a sorrowful illustration. It’s up to you.

The prize for first and second place are exactly the same - a Guild Wars keyset and a Zboard. The approximate retail value is $19.99 for the keyset and $49.99 for the base. That’s definitely a nice prize. It’s a good time to be a Guild Wars fan.

Incase you don’t already know, a Zboard allows you to swap keysets. These keysets are designed to make it easier to play your favorite games. Guild Wars is clearly successful, now that it has a Zboard keyset.
OK, so let’s not waste any time. Here are the rules....

Create an image that is based on Guild Wars Lore. The objective of this image is to create a strong feeling of emotion.
To enter the contest, submit your image in this thread.
Your image cannot be larger than 97.7 KB.
Your image must be in JPEG format.
You must be at least 13 years old to enter this contest, one entry per person.
Your image cannot contain objectionable content, such a profanity or explicit material.
You do not need to own Guild Wars to enter.
Michael Garofalo will decide the winners. All decisions are final.
Contest void where prohibited.
Applicable taxes are the responsibility of the winners.
Entry must be posted to the Photics Forums by May 28, 2006 11:59PM EST

There’s a certain bit of irony about this contest. The Zboard Guild Wars keyset makes it easier to take screenshots, as you can use the “Clean Screenshot” or “Toggle UI” features of the Zboard. In order to win this contest, you’ll have to struggle with your mundane keyboard.

The winner of this contest will be announced in the June 2006 issue of Photics.

Photics.com is not responsible for unforeseen or uncontrollable circumstances, such as floods, fires, site outages, nuclear attacks, war, famine, disease, lost mail, alien invasions or acts of God. Photics.com reserves the right to modify the rules for unforseen circumstances.

The odds of winning are determined by the number of people that enter the contest. Visitors of Photics.com are encouraged to critique the entries. Contest participants are allowed to change or update their entries, but not after the contest deadline - May 28, 2006 11:59PM EST!

Maximum number of entries is?
One per person?

well i've definately got a nice screenshot but that's all. I'm guessing that a simple screenshot may not make it, so i'll try to jazz it up a bit or create something else....

So is this a basicly a screenshot contest?

At first I thought it was an art contest.... Not that i'm complaining, it actually is alot better for me since I can't draw.

Do people read?

You can submit a screenshot or an illustration. The goal is to create a strong feeling of emotion with a Guild Wars related image. That means you can be a "photographer" by taking screenshots, or you can be a painter by creating something in a graphics program. The end result must be in JPEG format.

Well I guess I put it the wrong way a little as I did read this.

But for some reason it just sounded like screenshots are what's mostly going to be in this contest.

Yah... you're right, it's easier to make a screenshot. Yet, I wanted to keep the contest available to those who don't even own Guild Wars. The point is... to create emotion. When you think about it, an illustration is probably better for that. Yet, there's lots of emotion in the Lost In Ascalon series... so a screenshot could do it too.

i hope funny is an emotiont hat people can convey, because i do have a great image.. i will be putting it in here soon enough..just gotta clean it up a little
