Post Party Search Feature Notes

As you know, with the release of the Wintersday Update, a new feature has been added to Guild Wars. The Party Search Feature will make the formation of playing groups fast and easy. Whether a party is a blend of players, henchmen, and Heroes, or an all-player team, this feature will work to ready the group. You'll even travel seamlessly between districts to form a group in the blink of an eye! Read more about this new feature in today's article.

It seemed kinda crazy. When I loaded up the new window, it looked like players were more interested in trading than grouping. It feels like spam. Looking for group - I don't think that was ever done right... in any MMORPG... EVER!

That's why there are guilds!

Even without The Crusaders, I never had trouble getting a group. Just standing around, while messing with skill sets, players wanted to join my group. These are not fans of photics.com either. They're just players looking to beat the mission.

Is the Search Feature worth the reinstall of Guild Wars? Nope! Yet, I think there is a reason to reinstall Guild Wars - WINTERSDAY! There seems to be a lot more anticipation at this year's event. The santa hat is highly coveted. At this time of the year, even just standing around Tiger's Loop... err... Lion's Arch can be quite fun.

Yah, I never really had any trouble getting a group before the search function, so it was more of a curiosity thing to see how it works more than anything.

Ah, Wintersday.. feels like only yesterday I was reinstalling Guild Wars to attend the Halloween event

See you in Tiger's Loop!

Remember, the party search feature also works for trading, and it is easier to add hench/heroes to your party.

You completely left out one thing, reconnects! :P

Reconnects work really well from what I've seen so far. Unfortunately, it lets people leach in ABs, and FA a lot easier. They don't even have to worry about getting disconnected anymore.

No longer will we be almost about to beat a mission and err7. Reconnecting is just a matter of clicking a button and Guild Wars attempts to load back. No need to enter your password again.

Thumbs up

I like most of these updates. Wintersday is always a good time. The hat NPC is a very nice touch. No longer do I have to get as many people to an event as possible.

About the only thing I don't like is the spam thats starting to fill up the party search. It was only a matter of minutes from the time I updated and the time I saw "will cyber for 500g/minute" in the list.

Other than that, tumbs up for this update.
