The changes to Hero Battles makes it much MUCH more fun!
People still hate my
Issue #33 / Four Goalie build... but there's a lot less standing around, so they don't have as much time to complain. You have to keep up with the other player. If they start capturing shrines, you'll start to lose.
Wow... no really... WOW! It was exciting!
The changes to hero battles are great! I just got back from four consecutive wins. My build is still effective. Instead of holding the center shrine, I just have to control more territory than my opponant. That's not too difficult in concept, but there's a lot of moving and thinking during the game. For once, it's true... SKILL matters! For once, how I played the game meant something. I clicked the wrong shrine and I lost by one point. It's rather entertaining combat. Even if you lose the match, you stand a much better chance of getting decent faction points. It's almost impossible to control all the shrines. Matches don't go the full 10 minutes as often!
While these changes seemed like a nerf aimed directly at my build, it worked out for the best. For the first time ever... I truly enjoy Guild Wars PvP. Heroes Battles are intense. It's like a combination of MMORPG PvP with Chess and Real Time Strategy.
Here's what I'm wondering...
- Why is the /roll command permitted in Hero Battles?
- Why don't I get anything extra for a Flawless Victory?
- Why don't I get anything for consecutive wins?
