Lost In Ascalon #47 – Gatekeeper

There’s something that I find truly confusing about Guild Wars Eye of the North. Gwen is one of the most significant characters in the Guild Wars franchise. The discussion as to her fate has been going on for years. I was more than a bit disappointed when I was ultimately reunited with Gwen, which is why I’m changing things up! Episode #47 of Lost In Ascalon illustrates the situation.

In the official storyline, it was easy to find Gwen. All I had to do was buy Chapter 4, follow the road to the north and she was waiting for. There was zero challenge! ArenaNet made me work harder for pre-searing armor. That’s why I’m changing things up a little. Photics has been looking for Gwen for more than two years. It should be over that easily.

Oh, and if you don’t like Flash Paper, here’s the PDF version. :)

  4. Thanks for another great comic!

I’m curious to here what folks think of Eye of the north.

My take is the upper levels get more and more henchmen unfriendly.

The Ebon Vanguard and Norn missions/quests were a challenge but very hench doable. The Dwarf mission in the Heart of the Shiverpeaks quest is wayyy hard for an Elementalist. The ele has to carry an item (henchies aren’t much use for this) into a baaaad spot. The spot has a critter that can take an ele out pretty quickly. Its going to be doable…I think with a speed buff to dodge and a supportive monk spell to reduce damage but it is clearly an all or at least 2-3 human quest…easy then because your not trying to stay alive and control AIs that if not left in safe will just follow you. Flagging them helps but on my 1st try the got toasted before the carry/drop sequence was done.

Has anyone had any luck with the ‘Heart’ quest with henchies?
