I have been trying to decide whether to get Enchanters armor or Courtly armor for my mesmer and finallly decided to get the Enchanters armor although I don't like its appearance as much. I have been searching around on the web for pictures of it dyed black but haven't been able to find a decent picture. My question is whether all of it gets dyed or just parts?

Also does it make sense to use all Enchanters or do some of the others have global benefits where using one piece makes sense.

for the Enchanters, the 1.5k stuff get's dyed completely, while the 15k stuff get's everything but the lace dyed (which is not a problem if you want to dye it black, as the lace is black anyway.)
I also agree that Enchanters is not as beautiful as the Courtly/Noble and the Rogues armor, but it does give the most useful benefit. (energy) The Courtly/Noble only gives the + to armor when you're casting, but since mesmers cast so fast, it's almost useless. The Rogues is useful for some places, but the armor boost is only against physical. Since the Enchanters gives energy, that would be my recomendation, as you can always use more energy as a mesmer.
In fact, when I have enough Obsidian Shards, I plan on getting Enchanters FoW armor for my mes (it's the only Enchanters that looks good.) Only 42 shards to go!

Hey Omo,

I have the 15k Enchanter's dyed all black on my male mesmer, so the next time you see me in-game, give me a shout and I'll show it to you. In the past, the other armors gave a global protection by just wearing one piece, so I still wear the Performer's gloves for one less energy than the Enchanter's gloves. With all of the recent updates, it is unknown whether this global protection still exists...

thats an interesting fact river, i knew about the absorption on a warriors armor to be global but not about the other classes *bonus* armor to be global. No update has actually said that they've changed this but who knows.

As far as I'm aware, only the mesmer armor had the [probably] glitched global protection from just wearing one piece. Other profession armors do not or did not have this effect, and they may have fixed the mesmer armor so that it no longer provides this global protection.
