2/4/2008 Wii Virtual Console Updates – Operation Wolf and Columns III

Two new games hit the Wii Virtual Console today. Operation Wolf (500 Wii Points) is a shooter from the NES, while Columns III (800 Wii Points) is from the Genesis. New retro games typically hit the WiiShop Channel every Monday, 12:00pm Eastern / 9:00am Pacific.

Guild Wars User Agreement Modified

Guild Wars is an online game with no monthly fees. Yet, how long can the fun go on? Some of you might be wondering when the party is going to end. When will ArenaNet change their policies or ultimately shut the game down forever? When recently logging into Guild Wars, I notified that the User Agreement was updated. I had to agree to new terms, or stop playing the game. I became suspicious!

Check Mii Out Channel Updated

My Nintendo started glowing with that ominous blue light again. I wondered what it could be? It was a boost for the Mii Artisans of the world. The Check Mii Out Channel was updated. The Free Wii Channel improvements include minor enhancements to the interface and Parental Control change.

Guild Wars Weekend Event: Double Gold and XP for Vanquishing

This weekend’s Guild Wars event should make hardcore PvE players happy. Here’s the official word… “During this weekend, you will receive double gold and experience rewards for successfully vanquishing an explorable areas while in Hard Mode. The double rewards last through Sunday at 11:59 PM Pacific (-8GMT).”

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin – Launch Party at Nintendo World

Last Sunday, another long line formed at Nintendo World. Advanced Wars: Days of Ruin, for the Nintendo DS, went on sale at Nintendo’s flagship retail store. Despite frigid New York City weather, the event attracted a long line. Maybe it was the online play or the map editor.

Nintendo's 2008 Game Lineup for Wii and DS

2007 was an excellent year for Nintendo. According to the company, the Nintendo DS was the #1 selling game system and the Wii was #2. With both top spots secured, where can Nintendo go from here? There’s no need to wonder what’s next, as a tentative game lineup list is now available.
