I hate websites that make you sign up (or pay a fee) to download a game demo. It's a free demo! What's with all the strings? That's why I like Yahoo Games. Right now, I'm downloading the Battlefield 2142 demo. That's over a gig of data. Yahoo didn't hassle me at all. If not for this simplicity, I might have passed on the latest version of the Battlefield franchise.
I'm a big fan of Battlefield 1942. I consider it one of the greatest games of all time. How many other games let you drive a tank, then fly an airplane, all on the same level? Sometimes, I would stay perched in a church tower - doing my sniper thing. Other times, I would be friendly. I would be a combat engineer - repairing tanks and airplanes. The diversity of gameplay, that increased the replay value. Will I enjoy Battlefield 2142 as much? I'm roughly 900 MEGs away from finding out.
