Ever since I learned about Exteel from the PlayNC email newsletter and registered for the Beta, I'm constantly checking my email for an acceptance letter and checking the Exteel website to see if the non-internal beta has started yet.

It's driving me crazy!

I haven't played a third person shooter or Mech game in a long time, and I'm feeling it's about time. An online third person Mech shooter just seems like such a perfect combination, I can't wait to get my hands on it to play for myself!

I've seen the Cinematic trailer that looks amazing and I've seen all the in game trailers and screen shots I can lay my hands on.. the only thing left now is to play the game.. come on NCSoft, stop teasing me!

Anyone else excited about this game?

Exteel is on my radar, but I'm not excited about it. Anticipation leads to disappointment. Ever since Robotech, I've enjoyed giant robot anime. Yet, I haven't found a "mech" game that I truly enjoy - especially an online one.

The closest game to Exteel I think would be PlanetSide. I was excited about that game, but I lost interest at the last minute. When release day hit, I didn't feel it was worth a monthly fee. That's what Exteel has going for it - a Micropayment model is more inviting. If the upgrades are good, and the game is good, then NCsoft might see some more money from me. Keep in mind, I was interested in City of Heroes and Lineage 2, but the monthly fee bothered me. The only NCsoft games I have bought were the Guild Wars chapters.

So, the formula looks good...

Giant Robots + Big Guns + Laser Swords + Free to play = Fun

Although, they better think of better names for the upgrades. I'm not buying an upgrade if I don't like the name.
