We know that the 360 sold less than 2006, so it seems to be slowing. In either case, we know that Sony counts by the consoles SOLD to each person or house hold and not to the retailers (http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/IR/fina.../07q3_sony.pdf), while despite what 360 report in the comments M$ counts sold to the retailers.

If there has been no error made, this is very interesting news (game sites). I'm surprised most other web sites haven't said anything, then again if they are all being paid off...as in IGN's case where majority of their money comes from xbox advertising on their site.

I don't know what to believe. The PS3 seems to be making a strong comeback. Yet, I was reading a lot of negative stuff about the PS3 during 2007. I think the problem for the PS3 is the Wii. Even if the PS3 does come out slightly ahead of the XBOX 360, it still gets destroyed by the Wii.

Which system is going to win this generation's console war?

It looks like the Wii is going to sell the most systems. Will the PS3 take second? I don't know. I still haven't decided if I should buy an XBOX 360 or a PS3. For the longest time, I thought the PS3 would have been a waste of money. But now that Blu-Ray seems to be winning the High Definition format war, the PS3 is looking more appealing to me.

I don't know myself, as to what to think. I don't have anything to cite but I have heard a few times that the PS3 is selling better than the PS2 did when it came out. So maybe they are on the right track.

I do know I wish all these sku changes on the 360 and the PS3 would stop. I think your right with the HD format war winding down finally PS3 should get another boost in sales. But will it reach the Wii any time soon? As we all know the Wii doesn't have the long life span in front of it as the PS3 or 360 (though they are planning another console in 2009). As more and more gamers see the price drop on the seventh generation consoles more will buy especially with the bigger games coming out this year for the PS3.
