So i completely changed focus and now i'm doing R/E, but i see all these builds for the end of the game but i have absolutely no idea what to do early in post searing in the ascalon/shiverpeak area... im doing ok, but im not doing enough to handle myself alone or with just another, so i'm not going up in level very fast... im stuck and need some tips if someone would be so kind lol

Are you trying to farm the Northern Shiverpeaks...?

From the sounds of it you are near the Northern Shiverpeaks, not Southern. In which case, when I was thereabouts, I used Wilderness Survival as my primary attribute and took Ignite Arrows, Double Shot, Power Shot, Distracting Shot, Whirling Defence, Troll Unguent, Conjure Flame (seeing as you're en Ele), and Rez Signet. You should be able to do a fair amount of damage with this.

I wound change Ignite Arrows to Kindle arrow when you get it as Kindle arrow is one of the best dmg moves the ranger has.

ok sry guys i changed to r/w and now i made it to yaks... but i have dedicated myself to this character because i've made about 20 characters(none of which have made it past Lions Arch) just looking for something fun that doesn't die... i was wondering if its worth it to use sword and beast mastery together... my skill bar looks like this:

Apply poison
Sever Artery
Final Thrust
Call of Haste
Brutal Strike
Predators Pounce
Trolls Unguent
Charm Animal

I dont know if I'm spreading myself too thin or not...

Tseng and WarV have provided very solid build advice that would take you far as a R/E.

When I go R/W it is usually either as a running build or as novelty builds using apply poison and cyclone axe or as a hammer knockdown R/W.

When I go as a beastmaster I pretty much always go R/Mo in order to provide additional healing to protect the pet against death.

I would have real difficulty coming up with an effective R/W beastmaster build without over-extending across attribute lines. If I were you I would decide between a beastmaster build or as a R/W build with high expertise (assuming you have punted the R/E path).
