Post New user- need advice on R/E or R/D...

I just bought Guild Wars, but have been doin some research before I create a character. I really like the R/E/and Dervish professions and want to combine them later on in the game. If those are the three professions I am looking in to, what would you reccomend as the best combination....

R/E?

R/D?

or possibly putting E or D as primary and R second?

It all depends on your play style, since you haven't played before you probably wouldn't know. So here is my view of things:

Rangers are all around shoot/then run, or beast masters, and their skills tend to focus around shooting, or blocking. They are probably number 1 best for new players.

Elementalists use area of effect or single attack high damage ratios, however their attacks use a TON of energy, so you probably won't want that as a second profession if your a ranger, but stranger things have happened.

Dervish are incredible melee warriors, but they require concentration, their skills are anything from area of effect, to individual attacks, to boons and buffs for the party. Their widely used, and are an okay second profession.

R/E Usually goes for specific builds and I don't recommend starting as one, but mark of rodgort plus barrage is pretty good if I do say so myself.

R/D I don't know much about, isn't very common, but I don't know if it would be bad.

E/R Isn't to bad, you would still get to take advantage of the marksmanship skill, while having energy storage and an elemental magic at will. It is very good, and may make a better barrage/mark of rodgort than above. However you would not benefit from good armor.

D/R Would be nice, as you could use poison signet for your scythe, and other known combinations. Again don't know much, but a Dervish with a pet isn't bad either.

D/E or E/D is nice, although D/E might be better, as it has adequate energy, and can still rip through things with a fire magic/whirling warrior combo.

And remember, this game heartily encourages multiple character usage, and you can change secondary proffessions pretty early on in nightfall (I'm assuming you have nightfall).
