Photics.com Poll - Guild Wars on Consoles
I'm thinking that I should return to daily updates, like in the golden days of Photics.com. Yet, I simply don't have the same amount of time. Plus, attention spans are short. Do we really want to read more of my Guild Wars rants? So instead, how about something short and sweet for Tuesdays. (Yes... today's Monday, but this is new!) Every Tuesday, I'll post a new Guild Wars poll. I'll let this run for one week. So, if you want to see daily updates again, show your support for this new idea. This weeks poll - Should ArenaNet release Guild Wars on one of the next generation consoles? Keep in mind, this is a special poll. You can vote for more than one choice. After you're done voting, post up your thoughts. I have lots to say on this matter, but I don't want to skew the voting.

I have to say first off, daily updates are great. I like to come on at least 1ce a day and see if anyone has any new thoughts or threads. Weekly I could live with, but it would be slow. You yourself kind of set the pace for people, so you should post like by-weekly or something to kind of keep people coming and going.
Second off, it should be at least Xbox, because of the PC to Xbox compatibility. But you shouldn't have to pay for Xbox live, thats why I don't play LOTR online I don't like to pay to play. The ps3 would be ok, but it would be kind of hard wouldn't it? What with the move the controller and such. The Wii just doesn't have the graphics compatibility for it, so forget that.

Maybe the next poll should be 'How often should Mike provide updates.'. Then we could choose - daily, weekly etc.
I voted no on this one - I only use the pc and not the other consoles and wouldn't want the game to change for consoles.

Well... you could just write what you'd like to see in this very thread!
I've been thinking about starting a "Submissions" forums, where anyone could post content to the website. If the article is good enough, I would then move the post to the main web page. I've often suggested ideas like this, but it never seems to catch on. The closest was the Wiki, which was doing OK for a while. But now, who needs another Guild Wars Wiki?

We really don't. A submission forum would be good, I might use it once in a while, but it might not catch on since no-one has anything super important to say like you.

Yeah, we're all photicsdependants.
Anyway, I voted for ps3 because i have one. If I knew this was a multiple choice poll I would have voted on all the consoles. And the controller works just like in ps2 or xbox, except it doesn't go brrrrrrr when you get damage like the others do. Yes, it has the xisaxis abillity and it's wireless, but that won't change the gameplay too much.
Do you know you can install linux on a ps3 and it will work just like a pc?

Really? That's interesting, now I want to get it... But my friend said that you have to like roll the controller to get your character to roll over and stuff? Was it optional only?

I'm not sure what you mean by roll. I have a game, MotorStorm. You can drive just by moving the command, but you can also choose to play it as you would play a ps2 game (if you have played a ps2).
Why is the "pc only" option wining? Can't you people be less selfish and let the console owners play the game? Of courese, it's not you to decide anyway.
I would play gw in consoles if i could play with my existing characters and meet people that were using the computer or other consoles. That may be hard to do though...

Porting GW over to game consoles would require additional work that really needs to be put towards fixing the game.. Once they have it figured out on the PC side (wich is the easiest platform to develop for) then they should work on bringing it to consoles. The Guild Wars business model would work well in the console world
As for right now I think they should keep it PC only.. ask me again after Guild Wars 2 is released.
Daily updates would be sweet! 7 little features (like the weekly poll) would be a great way to do it
One could be "Places to See in Guild Wars" where you take a screen shot of a really neat place in Guild Wars every week and describe how to get there

I like that idea. Maybe a Lore week to! Although the comic does that already.
He could do a Npc of the week/month/year! And we could nominate and vote. Its just a thought.
