Default A Little Housekeeping...

I recently updated my copy of Firefox to version 3.0. While the software was being installed, a message appeared... "A Little Housekeeping" ...which I thought was adorable. How cute, Firefox is being neat!

Yet, I had no idea what was actually being done to my computer

Photics.com recently did a little housekeeping too, and I think that it's a good idea to be specific. Recently, I merged the latest version of the Photics Forums with a previous version of the Photics Forums. This covers a date range from August 2006 to the present. However, not all of the members had their accounts merged completely. Some of you might have noticed that "Guest" was appearing under some posts. The name was correct, but the poster information wasn't being listed properly.

I fixed that!

As a result, some of you now have a higher post count.
Jizato 51 -> 60 (+9)
judedeath 115 -> 120 (+5)
Nemisari 164 -> 196 (+32)
Moo 146 -> 161 (+15)
Sable 10 -> 11 (+1)

RSS FEED (Site Robot) 371 -> 407 (+26)
I felt good to do some data cleaning on the forums. Looking at the list of names, those are some longtime members to this site. I didn't like seeing the word "Guest" under some of the old posts. I'm happy that the problem has been fixed!

Don't hurt the Site Robot's feelings.

During the merge, some of the RSS FEED posts weren't counted. I corrected that problem. The Site Robot is a dedicated Photics Forum account. When the system detects a new article from monitored sources, a new post is created under the RSS FEED account.

I remember something a while ago about getting a new name for our RSS Bot, did that ever happen after?

The Site Robot was supposed to get a custom avatar. The contest didn't work out.

I don't remember if the name was supposed to change, but I could change it.
