Guild Wars 2 Commando – Unfortunate Fiction

Guild Wars 2 - Commando - Thumbnail ImageGuild Wars 2 is one of the most beautiful video games that I’ve ever seen. Yet, I have zero desire to play it… none… zip… zilch! I’m so far away from Guild Wars right now that my main computer is a Mac. And yet, I saw something from ArenaNet that actually excited me — the Guild Wars 2 “Commando” profession. Now obviously, it’s an April Fool’s Joke. When the calendar hit 4/1/2011, I knew to limit my Internet activity. There’s just too much miss information out there. But 21 days later, I discovered ArenaNet’s little jest. The sad thing is that the joke is on ArenaNet. This is what their game should have been.

Happy New Year – It’s 2011

Wow, 2010 was tough. I learned a lot though. It was a year of mobile development. It was also the most successful year for Photics.com – ever! This site has been online for 12 years, so that’s quite a statement. Looking at where Photics.com is now, and where it was a dozen months ago, I can see real progress. ArenaNet's Official Blog Is Live

If you haven’t noticed, I haven’t been too enthusiastic about Guild Wars lately. This week, ArenaNet is celebrating the 5 year anniversary celebration for Guild Wars… but I haven’t even logged into the game to check it out. I ran out of patience. Originally, I thought that the sequel would be in beta during the second-half of 2008. As the calendar hit 2010, I became discouraged. Where is it?! WHERE IS THE BETA?! How long does ArenaNet expect players to wait? From what I’ve seen of the sequel, I was wondering if I should simply give up on the sequel. But today, some encouraging words were found on the official ArenaNet blog. Mike O’Brien made the first post.

Guild Wars – Dead Ends

Guild Wars is a great game. You’d probably expect me to say something like that, considering that I run a Guild Wars fansite. I’ve been playing the game for years. But every once in a while, ArenaNet does something to annoy me. Usually it’s with their storyline. It started with Rurik and it seems to be getting worse. Eventually, the lore travels down roads that are so twisted, I can no longer follow them. I like to beat video games, to complete them entirely, but I have not been able to finish Guild Wars Chapters 3 & 4. There are parts of the game that I consider to be dead ends.
