I focus on PVE and generally don't have much trouble using a sword. Is it worth dumping my sword points and putting them into Axe?
Also, does anyone have an idea where the return on points into stats levels out? for instance I have sword of 12, but only need 9 for my weapon. I don't want to discount bonuses I might get so is there a thought to what you really need in each segment (strength, sword, tactics, etc?)

Axe seems to be way better for farmin, it has non elites skills that do area dmg which is essential for farmin. But in pvp sword warrs are considered as noobs and hammer warrs as weirdos. Sword is faster than axe and does more constant dmg, sort of more reliable. I play sword all the time and have no problem with pvp. Your attribute repartition depends of your skills only getting 14 in sword and 13 in strength would be good for a total dmg warr build but 9 is often enough for a tank.

I thought that they adjusted to equalize swing time for axe and sword at 1.33 seconds. Hammer is still 1.75 seconds, I think, but you also have the potential for a knockdown with the appropriate skill.
The higher attribute points in the selected weapon increases the damage and the likelihood of a critical hit. As beaverlegions said it depends on what you want to do: damage, tank etc.

I have read the same thing as for the axe and sword.

I started off using a sword, then I read how people in PVP think those with swords are noobs, so I switched to an axe. Now I want a sword again. Ive always wanted a fiery dragon sword. Anybody know where I can get one, or which monsters drop them? How often its dropped, how much to buy one? A basic fds with max damage and no mods. (or if i have to have a mod, i guess 15% dmg while in a stance). Thanks for any input.

I've had good luck with the dessert Griffs in THE SCAR for dropping FDS, not many gold but lots of max dmg clean blues.

That is a good place to get them, just the other day a picked up a maxed dmg one, it was clean, but it sure looks nice on my warrior.

I know it's been said before, but swords are all about causing conditions, and hammers are all about interrupts. Axes are all about damage. Cyclone axe is the best reason to use axes, IMO, but I run a sword build occasionally when I want to "Farm Different".
