Wii Sports is my first - and favorite - Wii game. It's well over a year now, but I still haven't found something more enjoyable than Wii Sports. Super Mario Galaxy was fun, but I like the idea of moving around. I enjoyed being more involved with the on-screen activity.
I've played Tennis, Baseball, Bowling and Mini-Golf in real life. It was more fun on the Nintendo. While I've gotten into a few fights, I haven't tried Boxing in reality. I imagine that I wouldn't enjoy being slammed in the face with an oversized mitten. No, Wii Sports is a nice blend of reality and relaxation. I get to move around, without having to kill myself. Don't get me wrong, there's something enjoyable about actually going to the bowling alley and knocking down the pins for real, but Wii Sports creates a unique sensation... relaxing exercise.
Anyway, I'm not here to point out the qualities of Wii Sports. It comes with every Wii. Nintendo was wise to include it with the system. To start discussion, my question is a bit more contraversial. What's your favorite Wii Sports game?
Me, I enjoy Boxing the most. It works great with the nunchuck. My least favorite is Baseball. Ugh, that game is so slow. I think I'd rate the games like this...
- Boxing
- Bowling
- Tennis
- Golf
- Baseball
I'm thinking it has to do with the immersion. When I'm playing Boxing, I get the most exercise and I feel the most involved with the game. Bowling is fun. I don't have to worry about finding the right sized bowling ball. The Pin physics seems quite realistic. Tennis is also fun, but the computer AI is too strong. It starts to feel like pong after a while. While playing Golf, I feel relaxed... as if I was actually out in a grassy field. I'd probably enjoy it more if putting wasn't so screwy. That leaves Baseball... pitching is boring and batting seems inconsistant.
What do you think? What's your favorite Wii Sports game?
