Bible

The Catholic Public Domain Version (CPDV) of the Bible has been converted to a web app. It has two modes. The standard mode allows for selection of text by choosing a Bible “Book”, “Chapter”, and “Verse”. To help with the selection of a book, that input field has an autocomplete feature. The left and right navigation buttons can be used to change a chapter, while the center button toggles between standard mode and search mode.

The Bible version contained in this web app is “a new translation of the Latin Vulgate, using the Douay Rheims as a guide”. Translator and Editor Ronald L. Conte Jr. completed a five-year project on March 28, 2009.

This Bible web app was designed to be fast, lightweight, and work offline. If you would like to download the source, it’s available on GitHub.
