Happy Thanksgiving – Guild Wars Style

ArenaNet loves to celebrate the holidays. With Guild Wars versions of Halloween and Christmas/New Years, I logged into the game to see if anything special was planned for Thanksgiving. Since Guild Wars is a global game, and Thanksgiving (fourth Thursday in November) is a United States holiday, I wasn’t expecting to see any festive events. I was pleasantly surprised when I was greeted with the following message…

Special Treats this Weekend

According to our wandering reporter, the Scribe, there are treats in store this weekend. The seasonal goodies will drop between 12:01 AM Pacific on 22 November and 11:59 PM Pacific on 25 November. (Times are -8 GMT.)

I wonder what those treats will be?! :)

That’s not the only thing special for the holiday season. ArenaNet / NCsoft is throwing a Guild Wars sale. Here are the details…

Buy Eye of the North and get any Guild Wars campaign for 50% off!

For a limited time, when you purchase Eye of the North through the Guild Wars In-Game Store, you’ll get 50% off any Guild Wars campaign (the original Guild Wars, Factions, or Nightfall).

Offer good for players who purchase Eye of the North from the Guild Wars In-Game Store or PlayNC.com from Noon Pacific time (-8 GMT) November 15, 2007 through Noon Pacific time (-8 GMT) December 31, 2007. Eligible players will then automatically receive 50% off a second campaign when they add that campaign to their In-Game Store or PlayNC.com shopping cart. The discounted campaign may be purchased at the same time as Eye of the North or separately at any time until the promotion ends on December 31, 2007.

To take advantage of the sale, you’ll have to shop in the Guild Wars In-Game Store or PlayNC.com. Considering that tomorrow is Black Friday, that might not be such a bad idea. One can avoid the long lines. Maybe ArenaNet should offer gift cards?!

Anyway, I’ll be checking out the Guild Wars festivities as “TANK” and/or “PHOTICS“. Maybe I’ll see you there! :)

  1. Pumpkin Pie and Hard Apple Cider! The Cider is for your drunkard titles and the pie makes you move faster and recharges your skills faster for 10 minutes (only not in PvP).

    Happy Turkeyday, Photics!! ^_^

  2. I’ve fallen in love with the Pumpkin Pie in the HM Dwarfen Brawling Dungeon (Fronis Irontoes Layer). It helps a lot.
