Guild Wars is an online game with no monthly fees. Yet, how long can the fun go on? Some of you might be wondering when the party is going to end. When will ArenaNet change their policies or ultimately shut the game down forever? When recently logging into Guild Wars, I was notified that the User Agreement was updated. I had to agree to new terms, or stop playing the game. I became suspicious!

Guild Wars Weekend Event: Double Gold and XP for Vanquishing
This weekend’s Guild Wars event should make hardcore PvE players happy. Here’s the official word… “During this weekend, you will receive double gold and experience rewards for successfully vanquishing an explorable areas while in Hard Mode. The double rewards last through Sunday at 11:59 PM Pacific (-8GMT).”
Guild Wars Bonus Mission Pack (BMP) – Available To All
ArenaNet restores honor to the Guild Wars legacy. The Guild Wars Bonus Mission Pack will no longer be a credit card exclusive. Starting Monday, January 28, 2008, players will be able to purchase the BMP for only $9.99 / €8.99 / £5.99 – through the PlayNC store, the Guild Wars Online Store or through participating retail stores. This is a huge victory for Photics.com, as this site petitioned for such a change.

Wintersday 2008 – Happy New Year From Tyria!
It’s something of a New Year’s Day tradition. I’ll wake up on the first day of January, I’ll log into Guild Wars, stand around for a moment and then I’ll get a new hat. Wintersday is not as impressive as it used to be. That’s to be understandable. I’ve been playing Guild Wars since February 2004. It’s time for a sequel!

It’s time to put my degree in Photojournalism to good use. I will teach you how to become a master Guild Wars photographer. Just as there is more to photography than clicking a button, there’s more to screenshots than hitting the “Print Screen” key. I will enlighten you. With your new found skills, you will be able to impress your friends. Maybe you’ll make a fansite, maybe you’ll make a Guild Wars web game, or maybe you’ll decorate your desktop with your custom-made wallpapers. Knowledge is power my friends. Use it wisely.
