Photics.TV passed another milestone. Over 10,000 subscribers decided that the tech variety channel was something they wanted to see more. It’s nice. That’s a lot of people. Thanks for joining the adventure, as the ultimate direction for this project is not quite clear. Tech video serendipity has been fun. This is just the beginning though, as YouTube channels can grow even larger.
While this is an exciting occasion, it is a bit arbitrary. There isn’t a specific YouTube reward for achieving this goal. The checkmarks remain the same since 1000 subscribers.
✅ — 1 video (Get started)
✅ — 100 Subscribers (Personalized URL)
✅ — 1,000 Subscribers (Monetization)
🔲 — 100,000 Subscribers (Get a pretty award)
There wasn’t a bronze award. There weren’t any new channel features unlocked. Yet, something feels different. The channel is special. It feels like the beginning of something extraordinary, even if it’s not clear what that means exactly.
Whatever is that wondrous destination, we’re getting there faster. The subscriber chart certainly shows accelerated growth. The first 1,000 subscribers didn’t join until well after a year Photics.TV was created. But by the following anniversary, 2,000 subscribers joined. On the start of year three, it was 7,000 subscribers. The channel has been more than doubling every year.
Yet, Photics.TV is not about chasing numbers. It’s about entertaining and informing humanity. (Well, I suppose the robots are watching too.) It’s about making a difference in the world. Even if it’s just a little nudge in the right direction, that’s important!
Additionally, the community is great. So friendly! 🙂
We’ve certainly unlocked a lot of Crossy Road characters together… HA HA HA …but there’s more to the channel than that! It’s been about tech support, reviews, tutorials, other video games, and even cats. 😻
So, what about the future of this website? What about Photics.com?
Well, that’s still being figured out. There has been much thought about how these two projects can work together. At least the books are back online. “A Book About Hype” and the Sci-Fi novel “Revisions” is available on Lulu.
The main focus of Photics.com has always been Internet Publishing… apps, books, games. Photics.TV is the place for video. While Photics.com has been online for 25 years, this site is just not big enough for hundreds of gigabytes of video. That’s why the videos are at YouTube. That site can better handle millions of people downloading Photics.TV videos in ultra-high definition.
That means the general idea is to make something. At Photics.TV, that means more videos. At Photics.com, it probably means a new app, book, or game.
