Wii News Channel Review

A blue light quietly pulsed from my Nintendo. The slot illumination function was operating as intended, as my Wii had something important to tell me. It was time for a system update. I wasn’t too surprised. I had heard the rumbling from the Internet. Word quickly spread that Nintendo released the News Channel a day early. A previous Nintendo press release mentioned that the News Channel would launch on January 27, 2007. More than two months after the launch of the Wii, today was the day to check out the News Channel. Halo PC – Combat Rehashed

It’s hard for me to talk about Halo without getting nostalgic. When I first saw Halo on the XBOX, I knew I had to buy it. Wow… 2001… that seems so long ago. The combat, the action, the graphics… it was the best I had ever experianced on a console system. Keep in mind, I’m a veteran of Bungie’s Marathon. It’s what Halo was before it was Halo. For two straight years I played that popular Macintosh shooter, but I only played Halo on the XBOX for about two weeks.

XBOX Game Review – Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

Microsoft’s XBOX scored big when they landed the exclusive rights to this one. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, by BioWare Corp, is nothing short of amazing. With a quality storyline, superb graphics, top-notch audio, addicting gameplay and the Star War license, this game is an instant classic.

Freelancer Review – The Poor Man's MMORPG

Sick of MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games), with their problems and their subscription fees, I was happy to hear about Freelancer. I downloaded the demo and I was blown away. It reminded me of Earth and Beyond, but Freelancer was better. Not only did I not need a credit card to play, but I actually enjoyed combat. The action in Freelancer reminded me of WWII dog-fights. Skill matters, as you can be attacked from any direction. You also have to aim… a feature most MMORPGs overlook.
