Christmas is a great time of the year. There’s only one problem, that depressing feeling you get after the holiday is over… no more gifts to give… decorations to be packed and pushed into a dark corner of a forgotten closet. I could feel this crushing emotion in Guild Wars as well… no more festivities… less random loot… it was just disheartening. The long nights of January could use some random happiness. Well thankfully, since ArenaNet had some technical difficulties with the original Wintersday celebration, it’s coming back. Their folly extends the holly and the jolly! The official message explains the details.
Due to technical issues with the Festival Hat distribution during the Wintersday finale, the event will return for one week with all the usual activities. It begins at Noon PST on Friday, January 29 and runs until 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday, February 7. The finale takes place on February 7, giving you another chance to pick up a Wintersday Festival Hat! If you can’t make it to the finale, there will be special collectors who will exchange Wintersday Festival Hats for Candy Cane Shards.
You know what this means for Stone Summit Dwarves in Fronis Irontoe’s Lair… trouble… lots and lots of trouble. No doubt TANK and Kilroy will be brawling during the event replay. I haven’t even clicked through the first 82 eggnogs that I looted.
After completing the Legendary Survivor title, I’ve been feeling burned out on Guild Wars. Perhaps the week long event could cheer me up.
