What Are You Doing Sunday Night?

Around at 8 pm, Sunday, Nov. 11, Super Mario fans will line up at Nintendo World, for the launch of Super Mario Galaxy – and I will be there! For those of you that are unable to make the mecha to 10 Rockefeller Plaza in NYC, don’t worry. Photics.com should have full coverage of the event. Return on Monday morning for pictures, videos and details of the event.

Here’s what Nintendo has planned:

  • A really long line
  • Kiosks with Super Mario Galaxy
  • DJ with Dancers
  • Velcro wall, bungee run and other activities
  • Prizes
  • Fans in costumes

Super Mario Galaxy goes on sale at midnight. It’s going to be a pleasure to record this historic event. I was at Nintendo World around the time of the Wii launch. The place was packed, but it was fun.

  1. Is this a ‘Nintendo Event’ only release at midnight, or is it going on sale everywhere on Monday? Every other site I’ve seen list it as Nov 14 (Wed).

  2. The game is supposed to release on Monday Nov. 12, but Nintendo has the liberty to release a day early and provide some fanfare around the event :)

If I could have been there last night I would have, instead I played Guitar Hero II for PS2. (since I can’t find Guitar Hero III at any store yet) I’ll be picking up my copy on Monday like the rest of North America (except for those who pirated it on Oct. 25 of course *rolleyes*)

Long Live Mario, Long Live Nintendo!
