Automator & Simon - Building My Robot ArmyIf you’ve watched popular sci-fi movies, you might be able to spot a common theme — computers and robots are bad. At some point, they’ll advance so far that they’ll rage against humanity. If that’s true, there can only be one defense — other robots. I can’t fight as tirelessly as a robot. So if there are evil machines out there to get me, then I’ll need ones to protect me. If it’s so easy to imagine evil robots, why not imagine robots that fight on the side or righteousness? Recently, I’ve taken a big step in building my own robot army.

I Lost My iPhone — But Apple Found It

Find My iPhone - ThumbnailI rarely leave my home without my iPhone. Otherwise, it ruins my whole day. It’s like losing super powers… like Lion-O without the Sword of Omens or like Batman without his utility belt. And yet, it happens. Sometimes I forget where I left my iPhone. Yesterday was one of those days. Just as I was about to leave, a question halted my plans. “Where’s my iPhone?” I checked all the usual spots, but I couldn’t find my iPhone. Fortunately, Apple has an app specifically for finding iPhones.

Five Surprisingly Missing Apple Features

With the new Macs, iPhone, iPad and iPod, the company has gone from near death to the most valuable public company in the world. But after hitting the top, where can Apple go from here? Actually, I see lots of potential for Apple. There’s still room for growth. You can tell by the missing features. Even though the company has grown so much, there are still some odd things about Apple — some surprisingly missing features.

The Kindle Experiment

Kindle IconWith two book updates published, and possibly two more in the near future, I seem to have a lot of book projects lately. I started wondering about the Kindle. Am I choosing the right format for my books? That’s why I started the Kindle Experiment. The aim of this experiment was to test the Kindle as a viable alternative to Apple’s iBookstore or iTunes App Store. I’ve learned a lot about the differences of the two platforms. I think I’ve gathered enough data to make a solid conclusion. I’ve chosen a clear winner.

Does Apple Earn Their 30%

iTunes App Store and Mac App Store iconsSitting in my email inbox is a message from Apple. It states, “Don’t let your iOS Developer Program expire.” In other words, Apple wants another $99 from me. Why should I give it to them, when they already take a 30% cut from my sales? I’m quite tech savvy. I could build my own store for selling games and digital content. Do I really need Apple? Do I really want to endure another year of frustration with Apple’s walled garden? I decided to take a closer look at the advantages of working with Apple.
