My car is about hit 15 years of age. The cost of maintenance is at the tipping point. Eventually, it becomes cheaper to buy a new car than to maintain an old one. There’s also additional stress involved. An older car tends to be of questionable reliability. Will it start? Will it get me home? I’ve been looking for a new electric car, but I had given up on Tesla. Today, they surprised me. The long wait is over. The $35,000 Tesla Model 3 is finally here.

Avid readers of this website know, I like the Mac Mini. Naturally, I was happy when Apple finally updated there iconic computer. It was a long wait. It was over 2000 days since the launch of the 2012 Mac Mini. (The 2014 Mac Mini was a step backwards and my 2009 Mac Mini was still good.) That’s a really long time, especially for technology. Was it worth the wait? Now that I actually have my own 2018 Mac Mini, I can answer that question.
There’s a great Richard Branson quote. “If you want to be a millionaire, start with a billion dollars and launch a new airline.” It’s a funny way of saying that you can lose a lot of money by starting an airline. With WordPress, where do you go when you’re already the leader of Content Management Systems? With the recent launch of version 5.0, WordPress seems to have hit some pretty bad turbulence. It’s as if they’re trying to start their own airline.
It seems like a bizarre combination, doesn’t it? On the one hand, you have the GDPR – the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulations. On the other, you have an eight month old retro-gaming console. What do these two things have in common? Well, for Memorial Day weekend 2018, that’s what’s been occuping the majority of my time. The serendipitous connection of these two events goes deeper than it seems.
After years of waiting for Apple to release a decent Mac Mini update, I simply ran out of time. If I was to continue with creating new applications for iOS devices, I needed something that could run Xcode 9. My Mac Mini (Early 2009) simply wasn’t good enough. Apple was basically saying upgrade or die. So, I upgraded. My main computer is now a 2017 MacBook Air. It’s a great computer, but it has one major issue. It only has a 128 GB of storage space.
