It’s hard for me to talk about Halo without getting nostalgic. When I first saw Halo on the XBOX, I knew I had to buy it. Wow… 2001… that seems so long ago. The combat, the action, the graphics… it was the best I had ever experianced on a console system. Keep in mind, I’m a veteran of Bungie’s Marathon. It’s what Halo was before it was Halo. For two straight years I played that popular Macintosh shooter, but I only played Halo on the XBOX for about two weeks.
Microsoft’s XBOX scored big when they landed the exclusive rights to this one. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, by BioWare Corp, is nothing short of amazing. With a quality storyline, superb graphics, top-notch audio, addicting gameplay and the Star War license, this game is an instant classic.
Sick of MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games), with their problems and their subscription fees, I was happy to hear about Freelancer. I downloaded the demo and I was blown away. It reminded me of Earth and Beyond, but Freelancer was better. Not only did I not need a credit card to play, but I actually enjoyed combat. The action in Freelancer reminded me of WWII dog-fights. Skill matters, as you can be attacked from any direction. You also have to aim… a feature most MMORPGs overlook.
