Dartboard – Emoji ThumbnailIt looks like Apple is killing the Dashboard with the “Catalina” macOS 10.15 update. If you’re like me, this is bad news. I probably press F12 over a dozen times a day. I like checking on the Weather, Stocks and other useful gadgets. It looks like I’m not alone in this disappointment. While the feedback on MacRumors and 9to5Mac is mixed, plenty of people voiced their disappointment with this decision. To help fix this problem, “Dartboard” is the next app from Photics.

Adding Dark Mode Styles (CSS) To A WordPress Theme

Dark Mode – Sunglasses EmojiWith the macOS Mojave 10.14.4 update, Dark Mode support was added to Safari. Here’s the official text from Apple’s update announcement – “Adds Dark Mode support for websites that support custom color schemes” – this leads to a natural next question for web designers / developers. How do you add support for custom color schemes? It’s actually not too bad. It’s one basic line in CSS and then a lot of tedious work.

KEEN – App #5 Launched

KEEN – Animated GIF (App Icon)There’s a memory in my mind of an old video game. This was decades ago, so I don’t remember all the details. Yet, a line of digitized speech is fairly distinct. It went something like this… “Stand By For Course Correction!” I’m thinking it was a Commodore 64 game. Maybe it’s Apollo 18. The game was fairly tedious, as it attempts to recreate the piloting of a moon mission. The game isn’t as important as the idea of adjusting course. If you’re going the wrong way, a slight adjustment could fix the problem.

Free Template Tuesday #14 – Tumult Hype “Book”

Tumult Hype Template (Icon)With the release of iOS 11, many of my original iPhone / iPad / iPod Touch apps stopped working. 64-bit mode is now required. So, I went back to the beginning – to Revisions. It was my very first book and my very first app. Ah, back in those days, it started out in Android. But since it was a WebView app, it wasn’t long before Revisions was on iOS too. That’s why Tumult Hype is interesting. I’ve been with experimenting with Hype projects as apps. I’ve had some success and some failures. This “Book” template for Tumult Hype highlights the matter.
