While I’m waiting for Apple to approve “Project: Salvage”, I figured that I should stay productive. It’s been tough to decide what’s the best project for me to work on. I decided to create a pinball game. Some might think that this is a waste of time, as it’s been done before or it’s not the hot thing on the App Store. Yet, I disagree. Pinball games are fun and I was having trouble finding one that I liked — either for Mac or iOS. So, I decided to make my own.

“Project: Salvage” — Too Hot For iTunes?
In order to increase popularity of BOT, I started working on “Project: Salvage”. That’s the code name for my secret app. It was recently reviewed by Apple. But much to my surprise, it was rejected. Apparently, I made the app a bit too sexy for iTunes. I thought I was being incredibly conservative with the way I presented the app. So, I had to go back and cover up some things.
Cheering The Slow Death of Physical Media
Is it disk or disc? If Apple gets their way, it won’t matter. Optical storage media will be obsolete. Computer files will be stored in the cloud… a magical place where relics of the past do not exist. Free yourself of worldly goods, material things do not matter in the cloud. It’s like some sort of spiritual enlightenment. Yet, I find myself suspicious. Is this utopian future really better for me? Is the cloud more trustworthy than a CD, DVD or Blu-Ray disk… disc… thing?

So, you want to be a game developer? You’ve decided to take the plunge. You’ve got yourself a shiny new Mac Mini — with no optical drive — and a copy of GameSalad. What are you supposed to do next? How do you create content? Where do you get helpful applications? How do you get started? That blank slate can be intimidating. GameSalad is great software but it’s only part of what’s needed in creating, publishing and marketing a Mac or iOS app. But with these useful links, your project can get a nice jump-start.
Madness — Microsoft Windows on My Mac Mini
Be faithful to your lover, not your computer. While I still like my Mac, some radical changes to Apple’s hardware line has me concerned about the future of the Mac. With the removal of the optical drive from the new Mac Mini, disappointments with Mac OS X Lion, the White Macbook going bye-bye and the hardwired MacBook Air RAM, the entry-level Macs have become less attractive to me. That’s why I started wondering about Microsoft Windows.
