The Mac App Store is Here!

Now that I’ve switched back to a Mac, I get to enjoy exciting news like this – The Mac App Store is now available. By clicking the little Mac logo at the top left of the Mac OS X desktop, and then selecting “Software Update” I started the download for 10.6.6 – which includes the Mac App Store. I’ve been using Macs for almost 18 years. Software has always been a problem. With this new option for Mac Developers, maybe things will change.

Word Lens Test

Word Lens reminds me of an old Batman: The Animated Series cartoon. The “Perchance to Dream” was a controversial episode. Batman was trapped in a dream, but he didn’t know it right away. His world was perfect. His parents were alive and everything seemed great. But when he picked up a book, the letters were all messed up. He realized that he had been dreaming because the brain can’t read while sleeping. He was a prisoner of the Mad Hatter. The only way Batman could wake up was to jump off a tower, forcing himself from a deep sleep.

A Memory Upgrade For My Mac Mini

Upgrading / Installing Mac Mini Memory - Article ThumbnailFor years I worked in tech support. I was “that guy” who fixed problems with Macintosh and Windows computers — web servers too. That’s why I enjoyed the challenge of upgrading and installing memory into my Mac Mini desktop. I’ve seen a lot of different computers, but this was the most difficult RAM installation that I’ve attempted. While most modern computers have made it easier to upgrade the hardware, the Mac Mini is a step backwards. That little box is tricky!

Learning About ePub – Making Books For Mobile Devices

What is Photics? What does it mean? That’s a common question when people inquire about my website. Photics is an area of science. But in regards to this website, Photics is my Internet publishing business. With the success of The Unofficial GameSalad Textbook, I’ve been thinking about traditional book publishing again. Although, with the iPhone, iPod Touch, iBook, the Nook and the Kindle, publishing a book today is not so traditional. I had to learn about the ePub format.
