But despite the low barrier to entry, there are standards for web development. It is a moving target, but professional websites are generally expected to hit certain requirements. Google’s web.dev website is an easy way to check if your website is meeting modern standards. Photics.com was recently put to the test. The end results were flawless.

Oh sure, the movies made money — A LOT OF MONEY. They’re certainly popular. The problem is saturation. Where do they go from here? After Avengers: End Game, after battling a scourge that wiped out half of all life in the universe, how do you write a more compelling story?

Widgets 3.1 — Happy Easter!

Emoji ChurchAfter some surprising feedback regarding the “Bible” widget, I went back to work. There were two main concerns. Catholics wanted a version of the bible for them. Also, searching by verse wasn’t enough. A text search was requested. This update took longer than expected. It was planned as the Easter update and the deadline was just barely met. But after the dark year of 2020, this project was uplifting.

Finally Got A Tesla — Hot Wheels Cybertruck Review

Hot Wheels Cybertruck ThumbnailBack in the winter of 2020, just before the pandemic mania hit the states, two Hot Wheels remote control Tesla Cybertrucks were announced. The preorders for the 1:10 and 1:64 scale toys ended almost immediately. That marked the start of a long wait until the Christmas season. But after a year filled with tragedy and turmoil, the release was delayed. With just a few more months of waiting, a playful version of the Tesla Cybertruck arrived at my door.

Widgets 3.0 — The Heavy Lift

Stylized DB Browser for SQLite Whew, that was a challenge. The Widgets app and Apparatuses were updated to version 3.0. This update was nicknamed “The Heavy Lift” because of the difficulty in migrating the existing reference data to a proper database. Instead of using giant JavaScript arrays, which was bad for memory management, SQLite is used instead. This switch was necessary to launch the latest widget — the “Thesaurus” widget.
