Guild Wars: High Ground

EarthquakeEarthquake – Elementalists can cast four types of magic – Water, Earth, Air and Fire. Those are the four elements. Never mind Hydrogen, Helium, Carbon, Oxygen and the other stuff you’d find on the Period Table of Elements. No, this is a fantasy word. It is a time before indoor plumbing and penicillin. In such novice of times, imagine the fear that an earthquake would cause. Now imagine being able to summon this power on command.

Imagine the damage that a spell like this could do on a mountain. First you launch the Earthquake, and then you bury your foes in the subsequent avalanche. Commoners would look at you in awe. Songs would be sung about you in local pubs.

My friends, my friends, listen here…
of the one, the one, so dear…
raise your glasses, lift your beer…
We drink, we laugh, we cheer…
for the one, the one, we revere…
our hero, so mighty, so cavalier…
our enemies, they ran in fear…
with a snap, they would disappear…
lifting us up from that dark year…

Earthquake, earthquake, run for your lives…
Earthquake, earthquake, the Dwarves all died…
Earthquake, earthquake, we stand with pride…
Earthquake, earthquake, saved our hides…

Ah, now there’s a song that might sound better while heavily inebriated, but the sobering fact is that Earthquake is the wrong choice. Photics uses Fire Magic, but Earthquake is an Earth Magic spell. If you review the description for Earthquake, you can see that it does earth damage. That spell would be of little use to an Elementalist specialized in Fire Magic.

Earthquake was not the correct choice. Try again!
