Guild Wars: High Ground

GuardianGuardian – I’m not sure of the logic in this choice. At best, it’s a zero-sum gain. At worst, you’re dead. TANK is aiming a rather large piece of metal at your torso. With Guardian active, there’s a 50/50 chance that he might miss. That does seem rather unlikely at point-blank range, but this is a magical spell.

With Guardian, there are two outcomes. In one scenario, you’re dead. In the other scenario, you’re still in a coma. Guardian has no healing properties, nothing to mistake it with a resurrection spell. Why did you pick this choice? It’s not a very good one. Is it because you want to read this book in its entirety? Wow, I feel honored. Well then, I should probably write something interesting. OK, here goes…

TANK casts the Guardian spell. Lina watches on in horror. She is too weak to stop TANK and she knows that you have half the chance of instant death. With a mighty yell, TANK attempts to stab you – straight through the heart.

Nothing happens!

The magical energy pushes the blade aside. TANK steps back for a moment, expecting something amazing to happen. While the rushing air created a brief and soothing breeze across your forehead, it does nothing to remedy your situation. He says, “I don’t get it! Nothing happened.”

Lina shouts back, “Of course not you lummox. You’re lucky that you didn’t kill the patient.”

Guardian was not the correct choice. Try again!
